Lesson 2 (1 ( 3)
A.Aim: By the end of the lesson , S will be able to ask and answer about nationality.
. Language focus: What nationality are you? I’m Japanese
Teaching aids: radio, Cd, ect.
B. Procedures:
1. Warm - up ( 5 min )
- Let’s sing : Have S sing the song Where are you from? ( p13)
- Listen again and do some actions with T
2. Look, listen and repeat ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to ask and answer about nationality .
- Have S look at 3 pictures and guess :
Who are they?
Where are they?
What are they talking about?
Where are they from?
Then T gives feedback in 3 pictures
Play the recording for S to listen and repeat. Do chorally and individually repetition.
- Play the record for S to listen and say along.
3. Point and say (12 min )
- Tell S that they are going to practice asking about nationality.
- Have them look at the pictures and identify nationalities.
- Point to picture a&b and elicit the language to ask.
- Ask them to say chorally and individually.
- Have S to look at picture c and make question and answer.
- T gives feedback and S repeat .
- Have S to practice in pairs and then demonstrate
- T comments and corrects pronunciation
4. Let’s talk ( 8 min )
- Tell S that they are going to ask and answer about nationalities.
- T runs through nationalities, have S repeat.
- T asks : What’s your name?
Where are you from?
What nationality are you?.
- S answer and T corrects
- Have class goes around and ask friends.
- Have S demonstrate.

B. Content:
1.Warm-up ( 5 min) Noughts and crosses

2. Listen and number ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to listen to dialogues and number pictures orderly
- Have S look at the pictures and identify : name, nationalities.
- Check understanding
- Play CD for S to listen and number a few time. T hen ask S to compare the answers together.
- Then asks S to listen and check.
- T asks S to give the answers and correct.
3. Look and write ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to look and complete the sentences.
- Have S look at the pictures and identify : names, nationality…
- Have S fill in gaps with the partners.
- T give S time to do the task. Go around and help if necessary.
- Get S swap the answers before checking as a class.
- Have S do chorally the sentenses a few time.
4. Let’s play ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to play Find someone who…
- T set the table on the board , S copy.
- T models: What nationality are you, Long? Then write on the columns
-Then ask S go around and ask friends.
- Then have S report ex: Long is from Thai
